These are the pictures from April that didn't make it into a post but that I want documented. Some of these might be from March actually.
little bear
Who knows if this little bear will be Max's favorite, but at this moment in time, he loves it!
I love this one. It looks like he is showing his bear something.
Roast it!
Hey All!
Dave here. It's been a long time since I have posted on the blog. Jess does a pretty good job of keeping everyone updated......doesn't she? Well, I thought I would share a little about my newest hobby....coffee roasting! Thanks to Tom at The People's Roast.
I started with buying an old school popcorn popper, The Poppery II
old poppers like this work because they swirl the beans around. I'm not going to get into the technicalities of it all, but if you want to learn more check out Tom's website listed above. That's where I bought all my beans and equipment. I'm hooked! He has some "how to" videos on his site too.
After I had the popper I needed some green beans! Tom had beans from Burundi in stock, so I started with those.
You can really only roast about 1/2 cup at a time, and it takes about 6-8 minutes for a batch depending on how dark you roast them. I couldn't believe the difference in taste between freshly roasted and store bought beans. Here's the rest of my pics. It's been extremely fun roasting for friends, family, and myself!

I like big butts
max goes to the flower show
Usually at the time of the annual Macy's flower show there is still 5 feet of snow on the ground and to walk among green trees and bright flowers is a much needed break from the grey/whites of the LONG winter. This year there was green grass outside and inside! No complaints here!
It is always very elaborate. This year's theme was Brazil!
As you can see, Max loved it.

5 months
this one cracks me up!
Your 5 month stats:
- you can roll from your tummy to your back AND your back to your tummy!
- olive makes you belly laugh
- you have started giving kisses! But it's more like a slimy suck on the cheek
- you like to pull my hair
- you like to touch our faces, especially daddy's beard!
- you used to hate being naked, but now you love it and fuss a bit when I'm getting you dressed
Max, you are my little punk and my love for you is deeper than the ocean
easter
Max's first Easter!
Special cuddle time with Za
Lots of crazy time with cousins
Anna took this one
All of Max's "firsts" are fun and exciting, but this one was extra special because of it's meaning. It brought a tear to my eye as I said to him "Jesus died for you, Max." Someday he will understand that and we are praying that he will accept Jesus as his savior. Oh glorious day!

the advocate
Before the throne of God above
I have a strong, a perfect plea;
A great High Priest, whose Name is Love,
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands,
My name is written on His heart;
I know that while with God He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart.
When Satan tempts me to despair,
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look, and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died,
My sinful soul is counted free;
For God, the Just, is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.
Behold Him there, the risen Lamb!
My perfect, spotless Righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
The King of glory and of grace.
One with Himself, I cannot die;
My soul is purchased by His blood;
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ, my Savior and my God.
