feed the birds

A few weeks ago we went on a family date to Loring Park for a picnic and to feed the ducks. It was so lovely and Max LOVED throwing bread in the water and watching the ducks gobble it up.

Downtown Adventure

This week Max and I went on a downtown adventure with my parents. Believe it or not, we had never been on the light rail, so we caught it at the MOA and took it downtown to have lunch with Dave! I was a little worried about how max was going to do on the 40 minute train ride but he did really well as long as one of us was singing to him, or showing him something out the window or reading him a story or or or....

weekend adventures

One of the things I have looked forward to as a mom is taking my kids to museums and exposing them to all kinds of different things culturally. In my head I have kind of reserved 18 months as the perfect age to start this special kind of outing. Well.... Max isn't quite 18 months, it's sprinter (a sad sad word depicting our spring that is actually still winter) and we needed to get out of the house! So on Friday we ventured to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Max loved it! Success!

He ran from one room to the next excited to see what was in each one.

All the excitement wore him out!
This will surely be the first of many educational/cultural adventures for us.

It was a full weekend because we also ventured to Como Zoo! We took Max to the Zoo last fall and he enjoyed it then, but he LOVED it now.

He was pointing at everything and making all the animal sounds that he knows.

It's so fun to watch him experience new things. Three cheers for family adventures!

Max Goes to the Children's Museum

For Christmas we were given a membership to the Children's Museum (awesome gift!!) so we used it for the first time and Max loved it! We had so much fun and can't wait to go back.

Max goes to Macy's

Before we met my parents at the Macy's holiday display, we had a little time to explore the skyways. Max just started walking (!!) so he loved the wide open spaces to practice his new skill.

Don't be fooled by the blank look on Max's face in all these photos. He loved it!

Look at how tiny Max was last year at the Macy's display!!
