Manvasion 1: Cake in a cup.

MANVASION!!!!!

Okay, I decided that we need to man up the blog a little bit. Don't get me wrong, I love Jess' artsy things that she puts on here. She does a fantastic job with all of her crafts, but making poms isn't exactly what I do in my free time. (so sorry babe). So, in my first of many many manvasion posts (okay, so this might be the only one but we'll see) I give you CAKE IN A COFFEE MUG. I actually stole this idea from a website that my bromigo, Jeff Printy, told me about....www.instructables.com.

Start with a few differenet ingredients, flour, sugar, oil, milk, coffee mug, fork....

what's that sweet tea doing in the picture you ask? That's my "tall boy". A man needs his tall boy.

don't forget an egg too.

mix everything in the coffee mug, throw it into the microwave for a while, take a swig from your tall boy, and change into your sweats.

Now, I didn't follow the directions completely because it called for chocolate and chocolate chips, but I wanted a vanilla cake. Not sure if it changed the consistancy of the cake or not, but it kind of came out looking and feeling like a wet sponge. It also smelled like microwaved egg..... it didn't taste that awesome either. Jess wasn't really down with tasting it.

In the end, we decided to doctor it up a bit with a few of my favorite things. Batter Blaster, chocolate sauce, cookie dough, and a cherry. All in all, it tasted delicious. Next time I might try the chocolate...

Since when is making cake a manly thing to do??? Just kidding Dave. I'm still bitter about the snake....

I think it becomes manly when you add pancake mix from an aerosol can.

With all due respect...
Ew.

Confession time. It wasn't really Batter Blaster it was whip cream. Batter Blaster might be unsafe on ice cream.

Hey Dave...from one baker to another...lack of chocolate does not equal vanilla. You'd want to actually add vanilla next time :-)

By the way, I actually appreciated the pom post. The kids and I made a few of those with green pipe cleaners attached and put them in a flower pot on the kitchen counter. Thanks Jess!
