After a bit of digging I found out that that is a type of flower known as "Protea" which has the common name Sugarbush. That specific genus of protea is known as "Pink Ice". So while love flower is an excellent name for it, the "Pink Ice Sugarbush" is pretty nice as well :)
BTW: Uglies is an awesome book.
